Our story
It all began at the desk of my part-time job. I was working my way through college and was starving to create. As I studied art, I learned to work with my hands to create practical pieces made of clay, wood, and yarn.
My crocheting and woodworking hobbies turned into passions, and later developed into something more when I moved into my first home. I loved spending time in my yard with my big dogs, and started gardening as well. My vegetables were yummy, but my heart lit up when I saw my first peony bloom. I went back to school to earn my horticulture certificate and the rest is history.
It takes a village
One of my main goals for Holland Home & Garden has always been to source our products locally. Part of this goal lies in my dream of growing plants on our own family flower farm. As we prepare for that tremendous undertaking, I am proud to partner with the following local flower farms that supply us with more than half of our flower supply for our arrangements and events.

The beauty of my story is that it’s been a years long journey that wouldn’t be possible without the support of my partner and mother.
Thor, the namesake behind Holland Home & Garden, came into my life at a time when my space was overflowing with my work. He didn’t look around at my five dogs, potted plants, and baskets of unfinished crochet with overwhelm, but he instead encouraged me to do exactly what I wanted to do, and do it with heart.
